Netflix’s Extraction franchise is getting an even bigger action-heavy ensemble. Extraction 3 has expanded its cast with Pierce Brosnan, Don Lee, Joe Taslim, Chi Lewis-Parry and Sienna Agudong, joining returning stars Chris Hemsworth, Idris Elba and Golshifteh Farahani. The latest additions were reported by Deadline, with production currently underway in Australia. The third movie will once again follow Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake, the highly skilled mercenary who has survived increasingly dangerous missions across the first two films.
Chris Hemsworth Returns as Tyler Rake
Hemsworth is back as Tyler Rake, the Australian black-market mercenary at the centre of the franchise. After the events of Extraction 2, Tyler and Nik Khan were approached by Idris Elba’s mysterious Alcott with an offer to join a new operation, setting up the possibility of another dangerous mission.
The ending of Extraction 2 deliberately left Tyler’s next assignment open. Alcott offered Tyler and Nik a chance to work for his mysterious employer, meaning the third film has a natural opportunity to expand the world beyond the individual rescue missions of the previous movies.
