WWE SmackDown Results and Highlights (23/10/26): Michin & B-Fab capture Tag Titles, Blake Monroe defeats Giulia and more

WWE SmackDown delivered a championship-filled night at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California, with major title changes and personal rivalries taking centre stage. Chelsea Green successfully defended her WWE Women’s Championship, while Blake Monroe picked up a hard-fought victory over Giulia in a brutal Street Fight. The biggest title moment came when Michin and B-Fab joined forces to defeat the competition and capture the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, marking a significant milestone for the newly crowned champions.

Meanwhile, the rivalry between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes took another dramatic turn as Orton agreed to face the Undisputed WWE Champion in a Last Man Standing Match at Crown Jewel. With the stipulation promising a physically demanding encounter, the upcoming showdown could become one of the night’s biggest attractions. Between championship action, an intense Street Fight and a major Crown Jewel announcement, SmackDown continued building momentum towards its next major event.

Sami is Ready for Crown Jewel

Sami Zayn arrived on SmackDown alongside Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae, although his reception was surprisingly hostile despite performing in his home country of Canada. Zayn addressed his recent confrontation with Roman Reigns and emphasised the importance of the WWE Championship, describing it as the most prestigious prize in the company and the title every superstar wants to hold. His promo was interrupted by Rey Fenix, who made it clear that he wouldn’t tolerate any disrespect towards his family, particularly his brother Penta. Tensions quickly escalated between Fenix and Gargano before Zayn stepped in to prevent things from getting physical. However, Trick Williams soon joined the conversation, exchanging verbal shots with the group before making his intentions clear: he wanted a shot at Zayn’s championship. The situation took another turn when Zayn blindsided Williams with a cheap shot while his attention was elsewhere. Nick Aldis subsequently appeared and announced a tag team match, pairing Zayn and Gargano against Williams and Fenix. Although the segment followed a fairly familiar WWE formula of interruptions, confrontations and escalating challenges, it successfully brought several rivalries together and set up an interesting tag team encounter for the night’s action.

Chelsea Green vs. Roxanne Perez (WWE Women’s Championship)

Chelsea Green opened the night’s action by putting her WWE Women’s Championship on the line against Roxanne Perez, who received her first opportunity to compete for a main-roster singles world championship since joining the main roster. The two women started with a competitive exchange of holds and counters before gradually increasing the pace with several near-falls and submission attempts. It was a refreshing championship matchup, bringing together two performers with contrasting styles. Green continued to demonstrate why she has been such an entertaining champion, while Perez finally got an opportunity to step out of the supporting role she had occupied alongside Liv Morgan in The Judgment Day and prove herself on a bigger stage. The action took another turn when Raquel Rodriguez shoved Green off the top rope while the referee was distracted, but Iyo Sky rushed down to neutralise the interference.

Green eventually regained control and connected with her finishing move on Perez to retain the championship. However, the celebration didn’t last long, as Liv Morgan and Rodriguez immediately launched an attack on the champion. Tiffany Stratton then appeared to even the numbers and potentially create an opportunity to cash in her Money in the Bank contract. Unfortunately for Stratton, Morgan managed to escape with assistance from Perez and Rodriguez before Tiffy could make her move. Green walked away with her title, but the post-match chaos made it clear that several challengers are now circling the championship, while Stratton’s looming cash-in threat adds another layer of uncertainty to the women’s title picture.

Giulia vs Blake Monroe (Street Fight)

Blake Monroe and Giulia delivered a chaotic and hard-hitting Street Fight on WWE SmackDown, with the rivalry turning physical even before Monroe could make her entrance. Giulia had already set up a stack of chairs beside the ring, but Monroe initially avoided being sent crashing into them before eventually taking the full impact. The violence escalated with kendo sticks, a garbage can and a brutal backstage sequence that saw Monroe driven into a mirror before the action returned to the ring. Despite the match’s attempt to create a genuinely vicious atmosphere, the lack of visible injuries somewhat limited its intensity.

Nevertheless, both women did an excellent job making the contest feel personal, bringing plenty of aggression and dramatic selling to the encounter. Monroe particularly impressed with her selling of Giulia’s stomp, making the impact look devastating, before eventually securing the victory with a Neutralizer. While the match may not have reached the full potential of these two talented performers, it was an entertaining, action-packed encounter and arguably the standout match of the night.

Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton

Randy Orton returned to the spotlight on SmackDown following the commercial break, addressing Cody Rhodes and his vicious punt attack on Baron Corbin the previous week. The Viper made it clear that Cody could target anyone on the roster, but none of it would matter until he confronted the one man who truly mattered: Orton himself. Rhodes soon interrupted, delivering a fiery response as he recalled the numerous betrayals and broken relationships throughout Orton’s career. With WWE officials surrounding the ring to prevent the situation from turning physical, the two rivals exchanged heated words, making their mutual hatred increasingly difficult to contain.

Nick Aldis eventually stepped in to make things official, announcing that Orton and Rhodes would settle their differences at Crown Jewel. However, Cody wasn’t interested in an ordinary singles match and demanded a Last Man Standing Match, ensuring that their upcoming showdown would have no easy escape. While both superstars did a solid job keeping the audience invested through their promos, the segment offered little that fans hadn’t already heard in their previous confrontations. The stipulation adds a dangerous new dimension to their rivalry, but the verbal exchange itself felt more like a continuation of familiar arguments than a meaningful development in their ongoing feud.

Tatum Paxley & Alexa Bliss vs B-Fab & Michin (Women’s Tag Team Championship)

Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley put their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships on the line against Michin and B-Fab, with Charlotte Flair absent from ringside and Jade Cargill instead providing support for her allies. B-Fab started aggressively, overwhelming Bliss with a combination of strikes before the champions regained control through a double-team manoeuvre in the corner. All four competitors maintained a lively pace, but the match struggled to develop the intensity expected from a championship contest. Despite some entertaining exchanges, the action felt somewhat routine, particularly considering that another title change was on the horizon.

The decisive moment came when Cargill interfered with a cheap shot on Paxley, creating the opening Michin needed to connect with a Styles Clash and secure the three-count. Michin and B-Fab were crowned the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, bringing an end to Bliss and Paxley’s reign. Although the match lacked the competitive edge and storytelling needed to make the championship victory truly memorable, the result was a significant moment for Michin, who finally captured championship gold after years of competing in WWE. However, changing the titles again so soon after the previous championship switch remains a questionable booking decision.

The MFTs vs Bakusai

Shinsuke Nakamura and Kiyomi received another opportunity to settle their differences with Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga, but their scheduled tag team match never got underway. Before the opening bell, Kiyomi grabbed Haku’s walking stick, immediately triggering a chaotic confrontation in the entrance aisle. The situation quickly spiralled out of control, with WWE officials rushing from backstage in an unsuccessful attempt to separate the two sides. The brawl continued towards the stage, forcing the match to be abandoned before it could officially begin. In an oddly timed moment, Michael Cole and Corey Graves even shifted their attention to promoting Danhausen’s new merchandise while the fighting was still happening in the background. Although the segment successfully created chaos and kept the rivalry heated, ending it with a merchandise plug felt rather awkward and took away from what should have been a more impactful closing moment.

Rey Fenix, Penta & Trick Williams vs. Sami Zayn, Ricky Saints & Johnny Gargano

The scheduled tag team main event featuring Rey Fenix and Je’Von Evans against Sami Zayn and Johnny Gargano barely got underway before Ricky Saints stormed into the action and attacked Fenix, forcing the referee to call for a disqualification. Penta soon rushed to the ring to even the odds and suggested turning the situation into a six-man tag team match. With less than ten minutes remaining on the broadcast, the newly arranged contest had very little time to develop and was interrupted by a commercial break almost immediately. Despite the rushed setup and limited match time, all six competitors managed to deliver an entertaining and competitive closing encounter. The finish saw Je’Von Evans pick up the victory by hitting Saints with the Book End to secure the pinfall.

One particularly interesting takeaway is how Rey Fenix has helped make the AAA Cruiserweight Championship a regular presence on WWE television. It’s somewhat ironic considering WWE’s previous struggles to establish and maintain a successful cruiserweight division over the years. The company’s decision to feature the Lucha Bros in this particular manner has occasionally felt unusual, but allowing both Fenix and Penta opportunities to shine individually has been a welcome development. While the main event deserved considerably more time, it provided an energetic finish to the show and offered another glimpse of the exciting possibilities surrounding WWE’s lucha libre talent.

Other Notable Moments from The Show

– CM Punk and Kevin Owens came face-to-face backstage alongside SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, who officially announced that the two rivals will collide once again in a highly anticipated rematch in Brooklyn in two weeks. Given the opportunity to deliver their final words before the showdown, both superstars made it clear that they hold the other responsible for their ongoing rivalry. Punk insisted that the only way to finally get Owens out of his life was to put him down for good, a statement that The Prizefighter dismissed with a confident and almost amused reaction. The tension between them remained evident throughout the exchange, with neither man showing any willingness to back down. However, the segment ended on a surprisingly humorous note when an irritated Punk walked away, only for Owens to turn towards Aldis and sarcastically remind him to make sure the chairs were facing the correct direction next time. It was a clever callback that added some comedy to an otherwise tense confrontation while giving their upcoming rematch another layer of anticipation.
