Mr. Terrific TV Show in The Works
Reports are that DC Studios is exploring another expansion of its growing DC Universe with a television series centered on the fan-favorite hero Mr. Terrific. While much of the recent spotlight has been focused on the challenges surrounding Supergirl, new information indicates that a separate project featuring the brilliant superhero may already be in development behind the scenes.

Mr. Terrific made a strong first impression in the DCU’s inaugural theatrical outing, Superman, where the technologically gifted crimefighter was portrayed by Edi Gathegi. Known for his extraordinary intellect, advanced inventions, and tactical expertise, the character quickly became one of the film’s standout additions. Although Superman was helmed by DC Studios co-chief James Gunn, his level of involvement in the potential spin-off remains uncertain.
The project is believed to be in its early stages, meaning concrete details are still scarce. However, reports indicate that writer and producer Allan Heinberg has been linked to the series. Heinberg brings considerable experience to the table, having worked on projects such as the TV adaptation of The Sandman and the blockbuster film Wonder Woman. His background in both superhero storytelling and character-driven television could make him a valuable addition to the developing series.
If the project moves forward, Gathegi is expected to reprise his role as Mr. Terrific, allowing the character to further explore his place within the evolving DCU. Story details, supporting cast members, and a potential release window have not yet been revealed, but the concept opens the door for a more grounded, technology-focused corner of the franchise.
Despite the mixed reception surrounding Supergirl, DC Studios appears committed to expanding its interconnected universe. The studio continues to invest in new characters and stories, signaling confidence in its long-term plans. A Mr. Terrific series could provide a fresh perspective within the franchise, giving one of DC’s most intelligent heroes the opportunity to step out of Superman’s shadow and headline an adventure of his own.
