WWE Monday Night RAW delivered a memorable night of action from Mexico City on September 14, kicking off the road to Money in the Bank with the first batch of qualifying matches. The episode packed plenty of high-energy encounters, intense rivalries, and storyline developments, giving fans plenty to talk about as WWE’s biggest stars battled for an opportunity to secure their place in the iconic ladder match.

The night ultimately built toward a blockbuster main event, as Roman Reigns went head-to-head with Penta in a hard-hitting title showdown. What followed was far more than a routine championship match, with both superstars pushing each other to their limits and turning the bout into an all-out war. From the opening bell to the dramatic closing moments, the Mexico City crowd witnessed a clash that perfectly captured the intensity of the night and gave this week’s RAW a fitting finale.

Dominik Mysterio & Liv Morgan vs. El Grande Americano & Stephanie Vaquer

The match came together after an explosive opening segment that brought all four competitors into the same heated confrontation alongside Rey Mysterio, setting the stage for an entertaining mixed tag team showdown. Once the bell rang, the action quickly picked up, with both teams trading momentum and creating several tense moments. The Mexico City crowd remained firmly invested as the competitors looked to gain an advantage and make a statement early in the night.

The contest appeared to be heading toward a decisive finish when Vaquer was closing in on victory, only for JD McDonagh to completely change the complexion of the match. His interference forced the referee to call for the disqualification, abruptly ending the contest and denying Vaquer the win. The Judgment Day wasted no time taking advantage of the situation, launching a post-match assault on their opponents before ultimately standing tall in the ring, leaving RAW with another heated chapter in the ongoing rivalry.

Men’s Money In The Bank Qualifier

Je’Von Evans vs. Big Cass vs. Austin Theory

The Men’s Money in the Bank qualifying match brought three hungry competitors into the same ring, with Austin Theory, Big Cass, and Logan Evans battling for the all-important ticket to the ladder match. The three superstars wasted little time going after each other, constantly trading strikes, counters, and near-falls as each tried to create an opening. With a spot at Money in the Bank hanging in the balance, the match quickly turned into a chaotic three-way fight where one mistake could end everything.

As the action entered its decisive stretch, Theory appeared to gain the upper hand after taking out Cass with a brutal forearm. However, Evans immediately capitalized on the opening, dropping Theory before turning his attention back to Cass. With both opponents vulnerable, Evans delivered an OG Cutter to Cass, securing the three-count and punching his ticket to the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. It was a smart and opportunistic finish from Evans, who survived the chaos and emerged from the triple threat with one of the biggest victories of his WWE career.

Dragon Lee vs. Chad Gable

Chad Gable put the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the line against Dragon Lee in a fast-paced and highly competitive showdown that quickly became one of the standout matches of the night. Both superstars showcased their technical ability and athleticism, with Lee repeatedly pushing the champion into difficult situations while Gable relied on his experience and submission expertise to stay in control. Just when Lee looked ready to finish the contest with the Styles Clash, Gable brilliantly countered the attempt and immediately transitioned into the Ankle Lock. With nowhere to escape, Lee was forced to tap out, allowing Gable to retain his Intercontinental Championship and walk away from Mexico City with another hard-earned title victory.

Women’s Money In The Bank Qualifier

Kelani Jordan vs. Lola Vice vs. Raquel Rodriguez

The night featured a high-stakes Triple Threat match with a spot in the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match on the line. The bout also carried extra significance as Kelani Jordan made her first appearance on RAW, while Lola Vice officially stepped into the red brand spotlight for her debut. All three competitors brought a different style to the contest, creating a fast-paced encounter filled with momentum swings, counters, and near-falls as they fought for the opportunity to punch their ticket to MITB.

The decisive sequence arrived when Raquel Rodriguez used her power to send Jordan out of the ring, temporarily taking one of the biggest threats out of the equation. Vice immediately seized the opening, catching her opponent off guard with a quick roll-up and securing the three-count. With the victory, Lola Vice earned her place in the Women’s Money in the Bank match, turning her RAW debut into a memorable statement and putting herself one step closer to potentially capturing the briefcase.

Roman Reigns vs. Penta

The night’s biggest showdown featured Penta stepping into the ring to challenge Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship. From the opening bell, Penta presented a completely different challenge for the OTC, using his explosive speed, unpredictable offense, and high-flying maneuvers to keep the champion on his toes. Reigns, however, answered with the trademark power and physicality that have made him such a dominant force. The contrasting styles created a compelling back-and-forth battle, with neither superstar willing to give the other a clear advantage.

As the match entered its closing stretch, Penta came agonizingly close to pulling off the upset after connecting with the Mexican Destroyer, but Reigns somehow managed to survive. The two competitors then exchanged heavy strikes before the champion finally seized control. Reigns found his opening and delivered a Superman Punch before following it up with a devastating Spear, putting Penta down for the decisive three-count. With the victory, Roman Reigns successfully defended the World Heavyweight Championship and once again walked out as the OTC, while Penta proved he could push the champion to his absolute limit.
